HTC Touch 3G: 18 Times Faster than ordinary 3G

In many ways the HTC Touch Pro was seen as HTC’s answer to Apple’s ever so popular iPhone. So of course we should have expected HTC to soon release the Touch 3G, in a rather obvious response to Apple’s iPhone 3G. Unfortunately, details are still sketchy, but the Touch 3G looks to present a major upgrade over previous models.

The touch screen Touch 3G has reprised its appearance slightly, and looks very glamorous. Its 240 x 320 pixel, 2.8 inch TFT touch screen display is rich, bright and full of vivid colours (65K colours to be exact). This 3G device supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN and Bluetooth. Powered by Qualcomm MSM7225 528 MHz processor, this one is also a fast runner and smooth operator. Its 92 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM supports fast processing and data transfer.

The HTC Touch 3G is also smart enough to organise all your business tasks, and runs off of Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1. Of course it includes all the essential applications and features included in predecessors like the HTC Touch Pro. Some of these programmes include TouchFLO finger swipe navigation, handwriting recognition, Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF viewer), Java MIDP 2.0, Voice memo.

No smartphone would be complete without some impressive entertainment options, and the HTC Touch 3G doesn’t disappoint at this level either with its MP3/AAC player, and Video/audio album. It also lets you explore your creative side with its 3.2 megapixel ultra sharp camera. According to the developers, the download speed of the HTC Touch 3G is 18 times faster than standard 3G phones (of course this claim remains to be verified). But even if only half true, it means users can now make more efficient use of the internet to surf the web, use Google maps, watch YouTube videos and use the integrated RSS reader.
