Starting August 22nd 2008, Apple will bring the iPhone 3G onto the market in 20 additional countries. The new iPhone model was released simultaneously on July 11th in 21 different countries and quickly sold out. Apparently, Apple hadn’t planned for such a successful launch and didn’t offer enough devices.

Apple has yet to specify which countries are actually getting the iPhone 3G on August 22nd. The company will release more specific information at a later date. Despite glitches and problems with activating the iPhone 3G in the UK, the mobile phone still saw stunning sales. A problem which initially affected the iPhone’s popularity was doubtless how it was mandatorily connected with signing an O2 phone contract, whereas many other mobiles, like the Nokia 6300, can be purchased without a contract. However, whatever hesistancy existed regarding the first iPhone model, the iPhone 3G has evidently overcome. Clearly, Apple is trying to popularize the iPhone globally and take its success international; and it seems that so far they are doing quite a good job.
