Nokia N97: The Most Advanced Handheld Communicating Device

By Dean • Dec 4th, 2008 • Category: Nokia

Nokia has just added the N97 smartphone to its N series product line. The company says that it’s the most advanced computing device on the planet as of now. However, this is something that still has to be tested by end users under various conditions before the phone can legitimately be given such an honor. But one thing is sure and that is that the Nokia N97 has impressive looks as well as a large display. It has a sliding QWERTY keyboard and overall looks like the HTC phones, but earns extra points because of its 640 x 360 pixels 3.5 inch display and is slightly larger than the Apple iPhone. You can also call it as a ‘Widescreen Internet Phone’.

With the N97, Nokia is aiming at transforming the way people connect to the Internet and communicate with each other. As expected, this smartphone also runs on Symbian S60 platform, just like the Nokia N96. The N97 is compatible with Ovi and N-Gage as well. The best part of the N97 is that it introduces the concept of ‘Social Location’. It has got an integrated A-GPS sensors and electronic compass which intuitively defines the location of the device. The N97 is also capable of automatically update social networks with real time information. It will be launched next year with a 32GB of internal memory.
