For the third year in succession, Apple has come tops in Fortune’s most admired companies poll. To punctuate how significant this achievement is, they also won the plaudits by the highest margin ever with 51% of those polled showing admiration for the company. What is most impressive about that statistic is that executives, analysts and directors across multiple industries take the poll, making it more meaningful than a mere consumer popularity test.
Self-evidential

The number of people polled in the most admired companies poll topped 4,200, with Apple coming in first, friend-turned-foe Google coming in second and Coca-Cola rounding up the top 10. Apple was first awarded the prestigious title in the wake of the initial iPhone launch and every year since with further advancements with the iPhone itself, significant sales increases to its Mac lineup, the unrivaled success of its app store platform and the frenzied hype around the announcement of its iPad tablet means Apple has all but run away with the prestigious title.

In addition for taking best overall honours, admiration was also expressed for Apple’s products/services quality, innovation, quality of management and financial soundness.
Things change, though
Apple needs to top the list three more years in a row to topple GE’s previous record of five successive most admired companies nods. However, given the standoff with Google and the massive rivalry brewing in the mobile space against Android, this list only affirms what many people know: Apple and Google are the two most watched companies in the world, and the mobile devices war (and advertising standoff) has only just begun.
Below is the full list of the top 10:

2) Google
3) Berkshire Hathaway
4) Johnson & Johnson
5) Amazon.com
6) Procter & Gamble
7) Toyota Motor
