IdeaPad S10e and S9e: The New QuickStart Netbooks by Lenovo

Lenovo has added two new computing machines to its ‘Instant On’ range of netbooks called IdeaPad S10e and S9e. The best part of these netbooks is their QuickStart functionality that gives users access to the most needed applications such as web browsing, multimedia, video conferencing (via integrated webcam) and photo slideshows in no time. To access these functions there is no need to wait until the netbook fully boots the operating system. This is something which makes these two devices stand apart from the rest.

Lenovo always offers the users the options of customising their PCs and the IdeaPad S10e and S9e are no exception to this. The S9e is available in a 8.9-inch display and the S10e has got a 10.1-inch LED backlit screen. The users can choose from Microsoft Windows XP Home, XP Pro or Novell SLED 10 Linux. Both the notebooks can handle complex tasks and are powered by an Intel Atom processor. Depending on the users’ needs, they can opt for an appropriate memory size (maximum 1.5GB RAM), which far less than the amount of RAM offered with the Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 and other expansion ports. Apart from this, the customers have option to choose the IdeaPad S9 and S10e’s HDD also. They can go for either a 4GB SSD or a normal HDD up to 160GB. Both notebooks support Ethernet, WiFi2, Bluetooth and ExpressCard 34 slot and can be enabled for mobile broadband3.
