Asus G71: Brings Quad-Core to the Laptop
By Jenny • Dec 2nd, 2008 • Category: LaptopsAsus, the company known for its top notch PCs, netbooks, laptops and other computer peripherals has just announced its new gaming laptop named the G71. The company believes that it’s the first quad-core gaming laptop to hit the gaming market. The machine is priced at £1,999 and is available via Amazon.co.uk. It’s a high price tag but the machine is worth it because a quad-core extreme processing unit at its core ensures unprecedented gaming and high definition entertainment on the go.
The Asus G71 is powered by the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300 quad-band processor which is known as the speedy performer. To further enhance its capability the company has removed the over-speed protection. This means that the processor will make the most of its four super-charged cores. The processor is backed by the Nvidia GeForce 9700M GT graphics adapter with a dedicated 512MB GDDR3 VRAM and 4GB of DDR2 SDRAM running at 1333MHz. This gives the Asus G71 tremendous power to handle the resource intensive games and applications smoothly. For instance, you can easily play games like GRID, Far Cry, Prince of Persia on it with all the graphics options ON. Apart from these, the laptop also offers a mega storage space of 500GB (via a pair of 250GB HDDs).
