IBM USB Stick: Ensuring Secure Online Banking

IBM, a world leader in computing products, has launched a new device called the ZTIC, which is designed to offer security against serious hacks during online banking. Hacking an online banking transaction is a very common offence. This attack is so dangerous that it drains out the account money in a fraction of seconds. During such attacks, the hacker makes use of some malware which sits between the bank server and the end user PC. He takes control of all the transactions and is responsible for the increased debits in the user’s account.

The ZTIC, short for Zone Trusted Information Channel, is the perfect solution to stop such attacks. It’s basically a USB stick that you attach to the PC before completing online banking transactions. This USB stick links directly to the bank server, thereby bypassing your PC and creating a safe zone. As a result no hacker can infiltrate the session and all transactions are secured. It is much more advanced than the standard security options offered by, say, the Lenovo Security Memory Key 1 GB USB stick. An LCD display on the ZTIC also lets you read all the messages regarding the transactions. Whenever a transaction has to be take place, the USB stick asks for the confirmation. You can either accept or reject the transaction by pressing accept or reject button on the ZTIC. You can also match the details of the transaction that are being displayed on the web browser with those on the ZTIC LCD. Any transaction will not take place unless the user accepts it via ZTIC USB stick.
