Hewlett Packard, better known as HP has shown its loyalty towards the Windows operating system from the very beginning. Moreover, HP products have always matched style with quality, and this undoubtedly one of the reasons for the company’s success. One of HP’s latest products, the Jornada, shows why the company has a reputation for excellence, be it with printers, desktop PCs, laptops or even PDAs. The 568 is a contemporary PDA with a price slightly on the higher side.

The Jornada 568 is the first pocket PC by HP to revolve around the StrongARM 206 MHz, the powerhouse processor that offers a lot of performance. 64MB of RAM along with 32MB of flash ROM empower the processor.

The PC houses a reflective 16-bit display with 65,000 colours and a detachable plastic cover protects it. It is really very bright in direct sunlight. Two brightness levels are available which makes viewing the screen a pleasant experience.

The battery in the Jornada is removable and has a life of 14 hours, which proves to be a big comfort. If the battery is removed during operation, the user has the alternative to keep or eliminate the data from the RAM, making this a convenient way to reboot the device.

The Jornada 568 is a swanky device, which has been made keeping in mind the modern standards of today. It is a bit expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for in the form of a high quality and multidimensional product. It is sleek, intuitive and represents another addition to the Jornada series, which includes the Hewlett-Packard HP Jornada 728. The company’s expertise has clearly paid off and the Jornada can easily contend with likes of Palm and BlackBerry.

  1. The latest from HP? The Jornada 568 was released in 2001, I believe, after Pocket PC 2002 was released.
