HP Elitebook 2530P is worth every pound you spend. It is a laptop which is ultra portable and comes with many unique additional features.

HP Elitebook 2530P is worth every pound you spend. It is a laptop which is ultra portable and comes with many unique additional features. Firstly, this notebook looks stunning in black and silver, not to mention the fact that it delivers an outstanding performance as well.

As you start using it, you instantly notice the two keyboard light and pointing device sets. Continue using this machine and you find it is the perfect laptop which means business all the way. Working on Windows Vista Business, this awesome laptop is priced at $2499 (around £1,700).

The HP Elitebook 2530P comes with a CPU SL 9400 with a capacity of Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz and a 3GB RAM. Unfortunately the onboard 80 GB hard drive clearly leaves something to be desired, although the smaller hard drive does allow for the laptop to be more compact.

The laptop comes with standard disclaimers such as its inability to support 3D game play due to the squeaky speakers and integrated video memory. As with a lot of other laptops, the Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 2530p does not sport a high definition Blu-ray drive. But it does support the standard DVD writer. Other than this, any application in entertainment and business is handled well by this interesting little laptop.

An interesting feature includes all the rubberised mouse buttons which come with each pointing device, making for convenient usage. The size of the EliteBook makes it easy to carry it around on your backpack or brief case.

As compared to other models of ultraportables currently in the market, the EliteBook outperforms almost every model other than the pricey Sony VAIO VGN – Z598U. The EliteBook also features a power pack which extends to about an inch at the back of the machine. With a convenient power gauge placed externally and a state of art keyboard, this ultraportable laptop is clearly a cut above the rest.

The new “EliteBook” line of laptops from HP has gained much popularity in the last few months. This range includes some robust and attractive laptops. The EliteBook 2730p is a sleek looking tablet PC, which is ideal for your business requirements.

The new “EliteBook” line of laptops from HP has gained much popularity in the last few months. This range includes some robust and attractive laptops. The EliteBook 2730p is a sleek looking tablet PC, which is ideal for your business requirements.

With an 80 GB hard drive, and an improved 1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, the EliteBook 2730p is an improved model of 2710p. Its stainless steel look compliments its sleekness. The tablet measures 12.1 inches and weigh in around 3.7 pounds, which is why it is easy to carry. You can either use the pointing stick on the Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 2730p, or the touchpad to navigate through the anti-glare display. The digitiser display is again a pleasure to look at, especially because it has 12.1 inches Illumi-Lite and bright colours.

Although there are many similarities between the 2710p and 2730p, the touchpad is an exception. The former only had a pointing stick, but the latter offers an option to use a nice touchpad with double buttons. It is actually a fun to make notes with the solid pen, which gives you the feel of a real ballpoint. The pen also includes an eraser and is firm enough to give you a comfortable feel.

You will find it easy to go through your daily tasks, like web surfing and writing documents, while using the 230p. It is also suitable for running multiple applications and performs other web-based activities with 3 GB of RAM and wireless connectivity. Altogether, it is a reasonably good tablet PC with user-friendly features and stunning appearance.

Rugged and toughened, as per the military MIL-STD 810F standard, in order to combat dust, humidity, vibrations, spills, bumps, altitude, extreme temperatures, scratches and climatic conditions, the HP EliteBook 6930p has the intense power to keep on going without any interruption.

The laptop’s main attraction is that its battery can accompany you the whole day, with a battery run time of a complete 24 hours. Unbelievable, but true. According to Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager (Notebook Global Business Unit, HP):

”All-day computing has been the holy grail of notebook computing. With the HP EliteBook 6930p, customers no longer have to worry about their notebook battery running out before their work day is over.”

This notebook can be configured with an optional ultra capacity battery to make this a reality. Apart from such rugged and long lasting features, this device is also one of the fastest performers around. The Elitebook 6930 can hold an extreme configuration. We are talking about its dual core processor, high speed SATA drives of up to 250 GB @ 7200 rpm, and up to 8GB of DDR2 RAM. Clearly, these are high-end and powerful performance specifications for any laptop, but it doesn’t end there. The computer also includes an ATI Radeon HD GPU with a dedicated VRAM up to 256MB for crisp and clear graphics, as well as an anti glare display to ensure you can see the display even in direct sunlight. The laptop even manages to include integrated surround sound speakers for entertainment purposes, and a 2 megapixel camera for videoconferencing.

Other standard features, such as Bluetooth, USB 2.0 ports, an HP fingerprint sensor and business card reader, are also on board. The laptop is very secure with its included HP protect tools, TPM 1.2 Embedded Security Chip, Enhanced Pre-Boot Security, HP Disk Sanitizer, Enhanced Drive Lock, Drive Encryption, Credential Manager and File Sanitizer for HP protect tools.

HP has introduced a new line of laptops under the name “EliteBook”, that aren’t entirely outdoors ready, but still robust enough for typical daily activities. A second hard drive even manages to fit in the 14 inch and two kilo laptop.

The “EliteBook” series replaces the previous business laptops from HP, whose model number ended with a “p”. The first elite computer model is the “HP EliteBook 6930p”. It is contained within the always popular 14 inch form, and the display is available with either 1,280 x 800 or 1,440 x 900 pixels. The lower resolution display is also available with background illumination. HP has not said if the display is non-reflecting. But because this was the case with the previous p series, it is likely to also be so with the EliteBooks.

The computer weighs a total of 2.1 kilograms including the 37 Watt-hour battery and hard drive (with sizes up to 250 GB). Batteries with 55 or 95 Watt-hours are also optionally available, with which the laptop should reach running times of up to 8 hours. HP has yet to offer an SSD for the EliteBook, but the standard hard drives have been additionally outfitted with vibration protection.

A second hard drive can fit into the optical drive slot, in addition to various other devices including a DVD/CD-R combination drive or a DVD burner or even a Blu-ray burner. However, a second battery cannot be placed there.

HP has kept quiet in regard to the components and is only talking about Intel’s series 8000 or 9000 mobile processors and 4 series of mobile chipsets. Intel has recently delayed the latter, although HP is likely referring to the GM45 with integrated graphics or the PM45 for external graphics processors. The EliteBook is also available with a Radeon HD3650 from AMD. It is also one of the few devices with both a discrete DirectX-10 GPU and a docking station.

This is also necessary should you want to connect a monitor via DVI. Only one VGA output is available on the 6930p itself, and the other ports include three USB 2.0, gigabit Ethernet, firewire, 56k modem, analogue sound and ExpressCard. The included 2 megapixel camera is quite unusual for a business laptop, and the integrated card reader for SD cards is not that common either.

The EliteBook accesses the internet wirelessly via 802.11a/b/g and Draft-n, as well as using an optional HSDPA module. A finger printer reader, a TPM 1.2 module for trusted computing and up to 8 GB of DDR2-800-DRAM round off the laptop’s professional qualities.

The casing consists partly of a magnesium alloy, while other parts were produced using a specially developed material, called “DuraFinish”, that is said to be very resistant to abrasions. The keyboard and the entire computer are safe from splashes of water, but won’t last long in the storming rain. The EliteBook is also very robust when being transported, such as in the car: the device should be able to withstand temperatures ranging from minus 29 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius.

HP has yet to name a price for the hardened computer, and it is first expected in Europe in September 2008. The company is also introducing new devices from the Compaq series alongside the EliteBook.
