The Fab PC from Fujitsu

By Alexis • Sep 17th, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

Innovative minds at Fujitsu are hard at work on an incredible concept. The company is looking forward to developing foldable tablet PCs that are not made of leather, but instead created using fibre. These tablets will be ultra thin in size and will be tough enough to withstand sudden bumps, falls or any other kind of accident.

The computer will be designed in a way that grants the user complete control over it. The display will be made using the ultra flexible E paper, which is the secret behind its foldable property. This material will allow the users to actually mould, bend and fold the laptop when not in use. This obviously not currently possible with any other laptop, even the high-end Asus U2E is completely inelastic. The Fab Tablet PC is supposed to be made from fibre, which means that it will be much lighter than current laptops and tablets.

However, using fibre increases the accidental risk of the battery catching on fire due to overheating. If this unfortunate incident were to happen, then the fibre will accelerate the combustion process. But according to the engineers, these kind of battery burning issues were only prevalent in the old days. Nowadays the batteries are very much advanced and the Fab will certainly not catch fire. There is a lot of development still underway that will make the Fab a more interesting and fun device. For instance, adding the touch screen functionality to it etc. No doubt, it will be the next generation portable computing device.

The Revolutionary Arc Mouse from Microsoft

By Jenny • Aug 14th, 2008 • Category: Mobile Computing Accessory News

Microsoft has just come up with a new revolutionary mouse called the Arc Mouse, which is not only a great performer but is also foldable. It has a unique design and ergonomics, making it one of the most comfortable mice to use, at least according to Microsoft.

Of course, with its stylish contours and unique design, it is undoubtedly one of the most captivating mice currently available on the market. It’s even more unusual looking than the Samsung SM30 Slim Wireless Mouse. The Arc Mouse has two different parts joined together that can be folded when not in use. This manages to eliminate half the storage space needed to carry your mouse with you.

This mouse can be easily used with any laptop or desktop. It supports wireless Bluetooth connectivity and comes with a mini USB Bluetooth dongle. All you have to do is connect the dongle to the USB port of your PC, and the mouse is ready to transmit its signals. The dongle is so small and lightweight that you will never even notice removing it from your laptop.

Microsoft claims that the Arc will be the finest mouse available in the market up until now. It has got a highly sensitive optical sensor, which receives, as well as transmits, the signals with the utmost speed and precision. This will surely make the Arc the most preferred mouse for gaming in near future. However, this state of the art computer peripheral has not yet been released, so will have to wait a little while longer before finding out if Microsoft’s claims are actually true.
