Sony Ericsson’s Walkman range is well known for its versatile models. To continue its series of attractive and innovative gadgets, the company has now announced another phone: the W705. As a mobile Walkman phone, the W705 is a Wi-Fi and DLNA certified device that offers great music and video sources. Additionally, Sony Ericsson has also designed a wireless home audio system that enhances the scope of this shake control phone.

With attributes like TrackID, PlayNow and SenseMe, the W705 can easily be compared to other Sony-Ericsson handsets, like the Sony-Ericsson W980i, in terms of sound quality. While the TrackID is a music recognition application, the PlayNow arena provides access to wallpapers, ring tones and DRM- free music tracks. You can also create your own playlists in accordance with your mood with the SenseMe feature. Moreover, it has a 4 GB memory that is large enough for storing as many as 3900 tracks.
The 2.4- inch screen is perfect for viewing emails and websites. You can also do a direct search of your favourite online music and YouTube videos. Other specifications of W705 include a 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio and automatic rotation ability.

To further increase the scope of music, you have the MBS-900 that is a mobile audio system for the W705. The easy to use 2.1 audio system and built-in audio receiver are capable of serving you well.

If you are tempted to buy the W705, you will have to wait for its launch in the early 2009 but when it is released you can buy the Sony Ericsson W705 here.

By Wilson • Sep 26th, 2008 • Category: Uncategorized

Sony has decided to launch the PlayNow Plus service to combat Nokia’s Comes With Music subscription service. The PlayNow Plus will allow users to surf and download the music tracks of their choice without any restrictions. It gives the user the complete freedom of choosing from a large library of music tracks and playing an unlimited amount of music.

The PlayNow Plus will be initially available with the stunning Walkman W902 phone, which has a mega 5 megapixel camera. Apart from this service, the Sony Ericsson W902 will also be preloaded with 1000 of the best selling songs. So if even if you don’t already have a music collection of your own, you will immediately after purchasing this mobile. Any music crazed mobile phone users definitely have a huge incentive for purchasing this Walkman model.

The PlayNow Plus service will offer seamless high-speed downloads for high quality music. Once downloaded, you can also transfer the files to your PC, with no restrictions at all. With the PlayNow Plus service you can also create your own online profile; invite your own PlayNow Plus friends and recommend tracks to them.

According to Lennard Hoornik, Corporate Vice President and Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson:

“All mobile consumers want to have content on their phone, but many find the experience difficult, slow and time consuming. With PlayNow Plus, there will be no more barriers, we’re giving consumers the freedom to instantly discover, download, play and recommend all the music they want—anytime, anywhere.”

Few developments would have propelled people to use their mobile phone as a music player or MP3 player more than this one. And if it takes off, it could indeed market the beginning of the end of MP3 players.
