WebEx Conferencing Services alls set to hit Smartphones
By Dean • Mar 2nd, 2009 • Category: UncategorizedThere is really good news for mobile professionals who wish to keep in touch with their customers or other important parties all the time; or for those who just can’t afford to miss any appointment, presentation or meeting while on the move. Wev conferencing is going to be mobile this April. The Cisco WebEx Meeting Center web and audio conferences will soon be accessible on a variety of smartphones including the BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry 9500 Storm, Nokia E71, Nokia E75, Nokia N97, other Nokia E series and N series smartphones and Samsung Blackjack II.
This will enable the users to participate in audio and web conferencing via 3G or Wi-Fi. They will be able to attend meetings, presentations and view applications and shared desktops with live annotations. All the hosts of Cisco WebEx meeting applications including Meeting Center, Training Center, and Event Center will invite the attendees via a simple text message. The attendees can then reply to the invitation via SMS itself to join the meeting.
Users will have to launch the Cisco WebEx Meeting Center on their smartphone web browser before they can receive web conferencing and integrated audio 3G or a combination of 2G and Wi-Fi connections. The users will also be able to attend scheduled meetings, view presentations and even desktops. The invitations that have to be sent via SMS are free of cost but for hosting and scheduling a web conference from a computer it is necessary to have a host account on Cisco WebEx Meeting Center.
