Rumour about Apple’s new MacBook
By James • Aug 1st, 2008 • Category: UncategorizedIn the internet arena there’s a rumour circulating about Apple which is becoming increasingly widespread. The rumour is all about Apple’s much awaited Macbook. According to the rumor, Apple is readying the release of its redesigned Macbook, which might even come with a modified title.
The renamed Macbook could be named Macbook Touch, just like the iPod model with the same name, but will this mean the new MacBook possesses a touch screen? There is a report coming from Computer World that unveils some confidential information regarding Apple. The first nugget of the information is about gadget’s size. The rumour says that the current Macbook might be very thin and similar to the Apple MacBook Air. This is what Apple has supposedly planned. The machine could possess rounded corners in another move that imitates the Air.
The other substantial piece of information floating around is truly ground breaking. This exciting rumour suggests that the TrackPad which is incorporated in the gadget will be manufactured with glass and might include the multi-touch technology. If you remember, Air also incorporates and delivers multi touch, allowing users to pinch, swipe or zoom in on text. A user can also advance through the photo album or adjust an image. All the Apple fans must be looking forward to these features in the Macbook. But Computer World’s source claims that it will only possess multi touch. Another rumour which came out was that the Macbook will only be manufactured with a single sheet of aluminum.

Touch is great and all that, however I would like to see certain changes on the software side! For example, wouldn’t it be nice if when I plugged my MacBook into a Microsoft Exchange Network that it autodetected and performed mapping of my drives to external servers during sign-on. I would also like to see either MS-Access and Visual Basic ported to the Mac or iWork Spreadsheet componet beefed up to a par with Excel as well as having it’s own Database application. Lastly wouldn’t it be nice if apple included a simple paint/image editor in iPhoto that allowed you to use brushes etc. I myself could care less about the look and feel of the new MacBook show me the real jump forward from Microsoft and others though better, more stable and secure software, that lets me do my job easier. For all its worth.
