A new gadget powered with high end attributes has been created by Gigabyte itself. Now Gigabyte is usually accustomed to manufacturing motherboards, graphics cards, and maybe a laptop like the GigaByte U60 UMPC. But this latest device that has managed to win over many fans is a GigaByte Smartphone. We are talking about none other than the Gigabyte g-Smart a60.

Unlike its long-winded name, the gadget isn’t cumbersome at all. The modern mobile phone includes support for both 2G (GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900) as well as 3G (HSDPA 2100) networks. The Gigabyte g-Smart q60 also includes a 2.5 inch TFT touch screen display with a crystal clear view of 320 x 240 pixels. It is compatible with a wide array of downloadable ringtones, including 192 channels polyphonic, MP3 and MIDI ringtones. The g-Smart is also quite an entertainer with its 2 megapixel integrated camera for shooting snapshots.

Now let’s take a look at some of the device’s core performance specifications. The g-Smart q60 supports microSD (transflash) memory cards, 256 MB of Read Only Memory, 96 MB of RAM and an Intel XScale PXA270 processor running with the speed of 520 MHz. Although these specifications are still far below the standards of any computer, they are admittedly impressive for a mobile phone. Users are also provided with GPRS (Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 – 48 kbps), Bluetooth v2.0 and a 2.0 mini USB port for simple file transfer. The gadget is run by the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system, and can of course be used for text messaging, instant messaging, emails and web surfing. All in all, it seems as if Gigabyte’s experience in mobile computing has helped the company in developing smartphones.
