Qtek 9600: Energising the Competition
By Alexis • Sep 24th, 2008 • Category: UncategorizedAnother smartphone, this time created by Qtek, has entered the smartphone rat race. The gadget dazzles in its unconventional sliver-gray complexion and extraordinarily brilliant design.
The Qtek smartphone’s impressive features and specifications easily compliment its ravishing beauty. For starters, the Qtek 9600 is compatible with both 2G (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) and 3G (UMTS 850 / 1900 / 2100) networks. Furthermore it includes a rather averagely sized 2.8 inch TFT touch screen, with a view clarity of 240 x 320 pixels. It also includes a handwriting recognition features, together with a QWERTY keyboard. With its slide-out keyboard, the Qtek 9600 very closely resembles other Qtek smartphones, such as the Qtek 9100. The advantages of both the QWERTY keyboard and handwriting recognition are evident in the faster, more efficient, and easier input of messages, thereby speeding up your communication.
As far as ringtones are concerned, the mobile phone supports the usual standard, including 40 channels polyphonic and downloadable MP3s. The integrated 2 megapixel clearly adds to the mobile’s talents, although many might feel the camera’s is unimpressive, especially when compared to other mobiles on the market today.
Now onto the device’s processor speed, and RAM, where it performs around average. The smartphone supports the use of microSD memory cards, 64MB of RAM, 128MB of ROM, and a 400MHz Samsung processor. One of the most critical aspects of any smartphone is its access to the internet, and here the Qtek model doesn’t disappoint with its support of GPRS (Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 – 48 kbps). Separately, you can also connect to any local computer through its wireless local area network (Wi-Fi 802.11b/g). For file and data transferring purposes both v2.0 Bluetooth and an infrared port are available.
