Lenovo is going to launch a new line of secure hard drives, starting with the ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive, this month. The drive is basically a pocket sized device that can be used to carry large amount of data with you or make a backup of your data.

In order to secure stored data, Lenovo has used the powerful 128-bit advanced security encryption. As you transfer the data on to the hard disk it automatically gets encrypted in real time. The ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive is unique from its counterparts, like the Lenovo Portable USB 2.0 120GB, because of the integrated keypad. Users have to enter the password using the built-in keypad in order to access the data.

Portable hard drives are generally preferred for data backup, including sensitive information such as private data, banking information, official work and other kinds of details. Thus, it is crucial that such devices accommodate the data safely. The ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive features a small form factor, ultra-thin and lightweight body. You can easily put it in your shirt’s pocket. The ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive will be available in two different storage capacities, i.e. 160GB or 320GB and are USB powered.
