The growing popularity of compact and light weight netbooks has lead to an incredible increase in the demand of Solid State Hard Drives (SSDs). Realising this, A-DATA has produced new and innovative SSDs for casual audiences looking for an exceptionally fast, reliable and versatile storage device.

The new SSD is known as the A-DATA XPG 2.5 inch SSD. It’s an advanced and innovative storage solution that has an impressive storage capacity of up to 192GB, which is far than most SDDs, like say the IBM Dual 15.8GB 2.5″ SSD. The best of this SSD is that it contains both a SATA II high speed interface as well as a built-in mini-USB 2.0 port. This way the XPG offers the advantages of SSD and conventional hard drives, i.e. mobility and convenience.

The SSD is enclosed within a lightweight case which is tough enough to stand against minor bumps and shocks. The A-DATA XPG stands apart from its counterparts because of its integrated Error Correction Code (ECC) capability, which ensures error free data transfer with utmost integrity. The drive is available in four different storage capacities, i.e. 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 192GB.

XPG SSD performance test results:

• Read up to 170MB/s, write up to 100 MB/s
• 1500G/0.5ms shock resistance
• MTBF: 1,500,000 hrs
