T-Mobile G1 Google Phone gets Cheaper in time for the Shopping Season
By Dean • Dec 4th, 2008 • Category: UncategorizedT-Mobile has already started to please its customers for this X-Mas. The company’s exclusive G1 ‘Google Phone’ just got cheaper by £10 and is now available at £30 per month tariff. However this is not to be misinterpreted as a strategy to promote non-efficient products. The G1 is still a great smartphone to have. The main reason behind the price cut is to keep the phone in the competition and it is not a reaction to poor sales.
The G1 was launched by T-Mobile a month back with a tariff plan of £40 per month. The device is facing fierce competition from other mobile network vendor’s handsets including the Vodafone Sony-Ericsson Xperia X1, O2 iPhone etc. With a price cut T-Mobile is expected to pull out lots of customers towards G1. Consequently more and more people will be encouraged to unveil the powers of the phone.
A T–Mobile spokeswoman commented, “We have chosen to offer the device free with a £30 contract to make the pricing more competitive in light of recent device launches. We are well on track to achieve our sales forecasts. The lower price is just to attract more people, not a lot of people know about the G1’s capabilities.”
