Mobile Web Browser: The Most Adored feature of Smartphones

More and more people are shifting towards smartphones because of one of the device’s crucial functions, i.e. the ability to connect to the Internet on the go. The Internet is an inseparable part of our lives nowadays. The fact is that we need it a number of times in a single day and smartphones have made the Internet mobile. These devices are capable of connecting us with the World Wide Web (WWW) anytime we want, anywhere we want.

The increase in sales of smartphones is primarily due to this ability. According to a new report from ABI Research, people think of getting a smartphone mainly only to access the Internet. The features like a touch screen, large display, high resolution, storage space etc are all secondary factors that do not factor in to most consumers decision to opt for a smartphone. Instead, the growing usage of smartphones is based their fully fledged web based web based services, including social networking, searching, viewing online videos, instant messaging, blogging and much, much more. In fact, many smartphones today are capable of nearly all the same internet activities as a wireless laptop notebook, and researchers only see the smartphone’s abilities improving with time. The report also predicts that due to the presence of high speed Internet browsers, the sales of smartphones will increase fourfold by 2013.

The competition will also increase because of the presence of big players like Microsoft, Apple, Google and many more. Moreover, we can expect few future mobile web browsers will be more powerful and versatile.
