Micronet to Develop WinCE 6.0 Based Mobile Computing Platform
By Jenny • Dec 12th, 2008 • Category: UncategorizedMicronet, the leading OEM provider of Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs) has received a grant from the Singapore-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation, popularly known as SIIRD, to develop a new hybrid Mobile Data Terminal based on the WinCE 6.0 mobile computing platform. It will be specially designed to support both in cab as well as out of cab Mobile Resource Management (MRM) applications.
The hybrid MDTs will be more enhanced and productive as compared to their predecessors. It will offer various on-board functions including PS, wireless communication, standard and dedicated communication ports to support third party devices, such as wireless routers, and vehicle bus I/O connectivity support. The device will be rugged enough to endure unpleasant circumstances and feature a large 7” touch screen rendering awesome resolution and vibrant colours.
